HXiao.ai is a space for thinking out loud about artificial intelligence — specifically the emerging world of Agentic AI, and how it connects with scientific domains such as seismology and computational research.

These are not polished academic papers. They are working notes, exploratory essays, and honest attempts to understand a technology that is changing faster than any single person can track. The writing is long-form by design: the ideas here don't fit in a thread.

What I write about

  • Agentic AI systems — how they're built, why they fail, and where they're going
  • Seismology and scientific AI — signal interpretation, automation, and reproducible workflows
  • TinyML and edge inference — bringing real-time models to constrained hardware
  • Reasoning and planning in large language models
  • Multi-agent architectures — coordination, trust, and emergent behavior
  • Knowledge distillation and model compression for scientific applications
  • AI safety in the context of autonomous tools and open-ended tasks

Design philosophy

This site is intentionally minimal. Typography is the interface. Whitespace is content. The goal is to get out of the way of the writing.

The design follows an editorial minimalism system — reading-first, serif body text, generous line height, no decoration for its own sake. If you're curious about the specifics, the full design system lives in the repository.
